-Conserving our Legacy-
The Barrett Historical Society was originally formed in December 1998 by the late Addie Mae Barrett-Dixon as a 501 [C] [3] Non-profit Organization to continue the preservation of the Original Barrett's Settlement Homestead and Farm in Harris County, Texas and to award Educational Scholarships to High School Graduates.
Over the years, Barrett Historical Society (BHS) has evolved and expanded its mission to include Education, Historic Preservation, Protection, Restoration and Revitalization.
Our goal is to create Positive Social, Educational and Environmental Impact, while maintaining the History and Legacy of our Ancestors.
Stewardship of the Original Harrison Barrett Homestead and Farm is entrusted to Harrison & Annie Barrett's Sole Living Granddaughter's Elizabeth Barrett Pearsall as Caretaker and Suella Barrett Gayle as Trustee & Administrator.
